Jenesano

The most beautiful town of Boyaca in 1999, it has a wonderful colonial architecture, his name has an italian origin and means healthy town. It has a temperature between 15 and 19°C and a beautiful landscape. Jenesano has a rich pre-colombian culture, we can name for example the Muisca culture and the Baganique valley. 

Jenesano growing includes apples, plums, peachs, tree tomatoes and cherry trees and others like tomatoes, chili, avocado, custard apple, platain and organges.

The ancient name of this population was Piranguata and changed its name to the Cleric Jenesano Maria Andres Gallo. Its Italian name, means "Healthy People". Today the town shows a structure colonial era houses, cobbled streets and Central Park gardens cared for by the neighborhood. The church is a building full of majesty which dates from 1830. Was instituted by decree actually February 5, 1828 and its creation was approved by the Liberator Simon Bolivar.

JENESANO belongs Boyaca Province Marquez. He holds the title of winner of the competition "The most beautiful village of Boyaca" organized by the Tourism Department Corporation.
